NOTICE:  The options listed above have changed!  For those of you who have been using the system regularly, this is a VERY important change...  This system used to be set up to reduce (not eliminate) empty search results.  If a certain option did not apply to any of the listings in the database, it simply did not appear.  For example: if you chose to search for apartments and the "2" option was missing from the "Bedrooms" menu, then there were not any 2-bedroom apartments in the database at that time.  The same would have applied for a specific city, neighborhood or any other option not being listed.

However, this created one major problem...  Prospective tenants were not able to search using certain criteria.  This is important because this system allows users to save searches, and have special alerts emailed to them when a matching unit is entered into the database (if the user has elected to receive such alerts).  So, if there were no 2-bedroom units in the system, users could not enter and save a search for them.

Now, the system allows users to search by ALL criteria within each option.  The "Bedrooms" menu, for example, will show ALL values, not just the ones that apply to the current listings in the database.  The same applies for the other options as well (city, neighborhood, etc...).  This now creates a new issue that all users must be very careful about...  Searching with too many options selected will VERY LIKELY result in empty search results!  It is strongly recommended that users select only one or two options at a time ("City" and "Bedrooms", or "Rent Range" and "Smoking Policy", etc...).  Choose your search criteria carefully.  If you obtain empty search results, re-evaluate your criteria and try again.
